Ilayathalapathy Vijay will start the tamil remake of Malayalam movie Body Guard as his 51st film from April 5th. Directed by Siddique, the film cast Vijay and Asin in the lead roles. Vijay will play the role done by Dileep while Asin is going to do Nayanthara’s role in the Malayalam original. Director Siddique has made some minor changes in the Tamil version to suit Vijay’s style.

Vijay was shown the preview of the movie along with his wife earlier and Vijay liked the script and immediately expressed his wish to remake it in Tamil. Body Guard is a romantic comedy and a family entertainer with sentiments too.

Director Siddique says, “Actually when I narrated Bodyguard story to Vijay two years back he was very keen to do it first in Tamil, but I always try out my films in Malayalam then only I will do in other languages.”

Siddique and Vijay worked together long back for their film Friends, which was also a Malayalam film in original.

Madharasapattinam is a different cinema with some good performances of actors. But screenplay is more dragging at duration of 2.40hrs.

The story starts in London with old age Amy on her death bed wanting her family members to visit Chennai. As the journey starts, Amy’s flashback too commences thereby letting us the secret behind her visit to India, especially Chennai. We get to know that Amy (Amy Jackson),

daughter of British Governor was in love with a Tamil Dhobi (Aarya) and they were separated by fate. The next couple of hours is like revisiting the ancient Chennai with its backdrops and a poignant love story as the main line. Towards the climax, there awaits the most surprising, eyes soaking sequence as the audiences would be puzzled will Amy meet her old Indian boyfriend.
